Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  If I have to miss my sitting because of a sickness or weather conditions, can my sitting fee be applied to another date?
A:  Of course!  Your sitting fee is non-refundable, so I will do everything I can to get you re-scheduled as soon as possible!

Q:  When should I schedule my maternity pictures?
A:  I recommend the end of you second trimester, or the beginning of your third trimester.

Q:  When should I schedule my newborn pictures?
A:  Before you have your baby!!!  Scheduling your session before you have your baby guarantees you an appointment.  I am very busy and can not get you in a lot of times.  Newborns are easiest to pose the newer they are, so you want to get in within the first week of their life for the best pictures!

Q:  Do you have the cute photo props, hats, etc for newborns and kids or do I have to bring those?
A:  I have lots of props and I am constantly buying more!  :)  If there is something specific you are wanting, please call or email me to make sure I have it before your session.  You may also bring anything you'd like, and I always recommend that you bring something so it is more personal!!!

Q:  Where do we take my newborns photos?
A:  Either at my home or yours.  You can come, sit on my couch and relax and watch while I photograph your little sweetie, or I will come to your house.  I have a lot of props, blankets, hats, backdrops, headbands, etc.  If you come to my house you will have access to all of them.  If I come to yours, I can't bring as many things, but we can talk before so I'm sure to bring things you will like!

Q:  Why take newborn pictures so early?
A:  Newborn photographs need to be taken in the earliest days while your baby is still tiny.   Your babies newborn traits will disappear so quickly!  The majority of babies I see are between 3-8 days old.  My goal is to capture the tiny details of your newborn.  In these first days, babies are incredibly sleepy and love that positions they were in for the past nine months.  As they get older, they will stay awake longer and are harder to position.
It is an investment to preserve your child's first days of life through newborn photos, but it is one that you will never regret!  Like a wedding day, it is a tiny snapshot in time you will never get back.  Your images will be treasured, not only by you and your family, but by your child as he grows!

Q:  How far in advance should I schedule my family/senior/child session?
A:  April - November is my busiest time of year!  If you are wanting to get in, I suggest you book at least a month or two ahead of time!  If you are wanting a weekend session, usually 3 months in advance is necessary!   High School Seniors - the best time of year is August-October!!!  Schedule NOW!!!

Q:  How long does each session last?
A:  Each session is unique and I don't put a time limit on my photography.   We go until we get what we need!!  Newborn sessions are typically 2-3 hours.  Family & children sessions are typically 1 hour.  Senior sessions are usually 2 hours for girls & 1 hour for boys.

Q:  Once my pictures are taken, how long until they are ready?
A:  It depends on the time of year, and how busy I am... usually one to two weeks, but I always try to get them done faster!   When I start editing your pictures, I send you a link as soon as I have the first few pictures up so you can see some of them faster!  :)

Q:  Do you offer gift certificates?
A:   YES!!!  Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount you wish!

Q:  What should we wear?
A:  This is probably the most commonly asked question, but one of the most difficult to answer!  Most pictures look better if you have some color in your clothes, but not matchy matchy.  Use lots of layers of different colors.
Always wear something you feel good in, pretty in, comfortable in.  It is usually best to pick one outfit first (preferably mom's) and then go from there.
*Try to avoid large logos.
*Please remember your shoes and children's shoes when planning your outfits!  So many times we spend a lot of time planning our outfits but forget about those neon colored shoes our kids have that don't match at all!!!  White shoes can also really stand out... black or brown shoes are the best!

Q:  Do you do graduation announcements, birth announcements or Christmas cards?
Of course!  I can bring samples with me for you to look at.  Just let me know you are thinking about them.
